How To Get To Koh Samui

  • Via Plane

    To reach Koh Samui, you can take a direct flight from several places in Thailand like Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket and Krabi. You can also fly directly from international locations including Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia and China. The flights land at the beautiful Samui International Airport which is situated on the North-East side of the island.

  • Via Train + Ferry

    First catch a train from Hualamphong Station in Bangkok to Surat Thani station. This journey can take between 8.5 to 12 hours depending on the type of train chosen. Once you arrive at Surat Thani, take a bus transfer to Donsak Pier and catch a ferry across to Koh Samui, which takes around four hours.

  • Via Bus + Ferry

    The most affordable way to travel from Bangkok to Koh Samui is by a combination of bus/shuttle and ferry. You can catch a bus directly to the ferry terminal, then take a 2-hour ferry ride to Koh Samui; it's recommended you arrive at least 3 hours beforehand as waiting times can be long. The total journey takes around 14 hours and costs between $30-$40 USD, with buses available from Sai Tai Mai Station in Bangkok or Khao San Road for private buses.
